How it works

We’ve made getting started with the D'Addario Free Recycling Program easy! Simply download a free shipping label to ship all brands of instrument strings and clippings to TerraCycle, and we’ll recycle them. Enrollment limits apply. If the program is full, please check for the closest public drop-off point.

Please note this program is for D’Addario customers and private businesses only; this private program option will not add you to the public-facing map of drop-off points. If you are a music shop or instrument supply retailer looking to be a public drop-off point on the map, please visit this page for more information.

Collect

Create a TerraCycle account and join this program. Then reuse any box you have to start collecting your instrument strings and clippings.

Print free label

When your box is full, sign-in to your TerraCycle account to download and print a prepaid shipping label.

Ship

Seal your box, affix the prepaid shipping label, and send it to us to be recycled.

No, the D'Addario Free Recycling Program accepts instrument strings and clippings from all brands.

D'Addario has sponsored this free recycling program, so there is no direct cost to you.

We encourage you to ship when your box is full of instrument strings and clippings (30 pounds at the minimum, 70 pounds tops) to minimize the transportation carbon footprint for this program. UPS will not accept dripping packages, so please make sure your items are dry.
