Bring your recycling to a participating public drop-off point near you. It's free, and you won't need a TerraCycle account or shipping label.
How to become a public drop-off point
Simply request to join this programme, and once you are confirmed, your location will show up on the public drop-off point map. Set up boxes that community members can fill with their rubbish to be recycled, and send full boxes to TerraCycle at no cost to you.

It’s quite simple to set up and manage a public drop-off point, and you can recruit a group of friends to help!
Set Up:

Choose a location and receive permission if needed.

Update a new or existing TerraCycle account profile with details about your public drop-off point.

Request to join the programmes you would like to participate in.

Once you’ve been approved for the programmes you requested, set up your public drop-off point location.
Manage:

Oversee the location (check it is being used properly, that rubbish is being shipped when collection boxes are filled).

When boxes are filled, seal them, download and affix the prepaid labels, and drop off the boxes at a New Zealand Post.

Continue to join programmes of your choosing.
Promote: Spread awareness about your drop-off point (as you see fit) to encourage participation.
Allocate: As you accumulate TerraCycle recycling rewards, choose which charities will receive donations from your points.

Public spaces that have good traffic flow and are easily accessible are excellent public drop-off points. Stores, community centers, places of worship, and libraries are great options.
You choose which TerraCycle free recycling programmes your public drop-off point will participate in. Collectors can drop off only the rubbish accepted in those TerraCycle programmes.
This programme has strict shipping guidelines due to the transportation of aerosols. Please read through this check list before shipping your waste.
- Ensure your aerosols are empty (when you press down the nozzle no more product comes out).
- Ensure all aerosols have caps on.
- Use a sturdy box and leave at least 5cm of empty space at the top of the box.
- Ensure your box weighs less than 30kg.
Rewards
Earn TerraCycle points by recycling with us! You can redeem your points in the form of a donation to a school, charity, or nonprofit of your choice. 1. Recycle
Request for your public drop-off point to join the Schwarzkopf Hair Care Aerosols Free Recycling Programme. Once approved, begin collecting recycling with your community.
2. Earn Rewards
Send in the recycling you’ve collected at your public drop-off point. As the drop-off point administrator, you’ll earn all of the points for your shipments! Shipments earn 100 points per kilogram of rubbish.
3. Redeem Rewards
TerraCycle points can be redeemed for a donation of $1.00 per 100 points to the charitable organisation or school of your choice.
Discover Our Recycling Process
Once collected, the hair aerosol packaging is broken down and separated by material. Plastics are cleaned and pelletised to be recycled into new products, and metal materials are sent for smelting and conversion to new alloys.
