The Sistema Recycled Playground Contest

Recycle your food containers and reusable water bottles and be in for a chance to win a playground with a frame made of 100% recycled materials—including recycled food containers—all thanks to our partnership with Sistema.

Play your part to help protect the planet! Get your community involved and recycle your food containers and reusable water bottles for a chance to win an amazing prize while raising funds for your school!

All shipments sent in by participating schools that are picked up by UPS by 18 December will count towards the final standings in the contest. These shipments will be checked and tallied before the final positions are announced in January 2025.

Contest rules

  1. Create a free TerraCycle account on behalf of your school.
  2. Join the Food Storage Container and Reusable Bottle Free Recycling Programme! We recommend that you sign up to become a public drop-off point and encourage your community to support you in your recycling efforts during the contest.
  3. Agree to the Terms and Conditions by signing the Letter of Agreement either manually (by printing and sending a scanned copy to us at contest@terracycle.com) or electornically by filling out this form.
  4. Please note that the Letter of Agreement needs to be signed by an authorised representative of the school (e.g. headteacher or deputy headteacher).
  5. Don’t forget to fill in the consent form
  6. Send us as many food containers and reusable water bottles accepted in the programme as you can!
  7. Throughout the contest, you can track your progress on the leaderboard available on this page. The leaderboard is updated on a monthly basis.
  8. Participating schools will be offered PR support on a first-come first-served basis. Don’t miss this opportunity of getting the word out! Reaching out to a wider community will help you boost your recycling efforts to win a playground. Please contact our team by filling out this form for more information.
  9. After the contest ends on 18th December 2024, the school that has sent the most items will win a playground with a frame made of 100% recycled materials—including recycled food containers. The pupils of the contest-winning school and the runner-up will also receive a Sistema food container and a reusable bottle*.

To win

Once you’ve joined the programme, send as many shipments of food containers and reusable water bottles as you can until the end of the Sistema Recycled Playground Contest on 18th December 2024. The school that has sent the most shipments will win a playground with a frame made of 100% recycled materials—including recycled food containers–to be installed on its premises. Each pupil of the top 2 schools on the leaderboard will also receive a Sistema food container and a reusable bottle*. What’s more, every shipment will earn 100 TerraCycle points per kilogram.
