McCafé^® has sponsored this free composting and recycling program, so there is no direct cost to you.

We encourage you to ship when your box is full of McCafé^® Espresso Coffee Capsules–for use in Nespresso^®* Original Coffee Machines–and the flexible plastic bags they come in to minimize the transportation carbon footprint for this program.

No, you do not need to clean or empty the McCafé^® Espresso Coffee Capsules–for use in Nespresso®* Original Coffee Machines–or the flexible bags they come in before sending them to TerraCycle. UPS will not accept dripping packages, so make sure your items are dry and the box tightly sealed.

Composting is a process in which natural products decay into compost, which is a fine material that can be used to naturally fertilize soil. Industrial composting is the large-scale processing of organic waste into compost. As part of this program, McCafé^® Espresso Coffee Capsules–for use in Nespresso^®* Original Coffee Machines –will be sent to TerraCycle's industrial composting partner.

The capsules should not be composted in municipal composting programs at this time, and are not suitable for home composting.

We encourage all consumers living in a region where the program is offered to participate in the program to make sure that their McCafé^® Espresso Coffee Capsules for use in Nespresso^®* Original Coffee Machines are effectively composted. The program is available across Canada with the exception of Yukon, Nunavut, and the Northwest Territories.
