How to become a public drop-off point
Simply request to join this program, and once you are confirmed, your location will show up on the public drop-off point map. Set up boxes that community members can fill with their rubbish to be recycled, and send full boxes to TerraCycle at no cost to you.

It’s quite simple to set up and manage a public drop-off point, and you can recruit a group of friends to help!
Set Up:

Choose a location and receive permission if needed.

Update a new or existing TerraCycle account profile with details about your public drop-off point.

Request to join the programs you would like to participate in.

Once you’ve been approved for the programs you requested, set up your public drop-off point location.
Manage:

Oversee the location (check it is being used properly, that rubbish is being shipped when collection boxes are filled).

When boxes are filled, seal them, download and affix the prepaid labels, and drop off the boxes at an Australia Post.

Continue to join programs of your choosing.
Promote: Spread awareness about your drop-off point (as you see fit) to encourage participation.
Allocate: As you accumulate TerraCycle recycling rewards, choose which charities will receive donations from your points.
Public spaces that have good traffic flow and are easily accessible are excellent public drop-off point. Stores, community centers, places of worship, and libraries are great options.
Earn Recycling Rewards
1. Recycle
Request for your public drop-off point to join the Garnier Green Beauty Free Recycling Program. Once approved, begin collecting recycling with your community.
2. Earn Rewards
Send in the recycling you’ve collected at your public drop-off point once you have reached the recommended shipment weight of 10kg. As the drop-off point administrator, you’ll earn all of the points for your shipments! Shipments earn 1 points per kilogram of rubbish.
3. Redeem Rewards
TerraCycle points can be redeemed for a payment to the non-profit organisation or school of your choice. 10kg is the minimum shipment weight required to earn points.

Once collected, the skincare packaging is cleaned and separated by material type. The fibres and plastics are recycled into raw formats that manufacturers use to make new products.
