How it works
We’ve made getting started with David Jones BeautyCycle easy! Simply drop off your empty beauty packaging to your nearest participating David Jones store, and we’ll recycle it.
Get Started
Participating in this program is easy and FREE! See answers to frequently-asked questions here.
Any brand of cosmetic, hair care or skin care packaging.
The program does not accept:
Packaging still containing lots of product
Aerosol cans
Wooden makeup pencils
Makeup wipes or cloth face masks
Nail polish bottles and nail polish remover bottles
Bags, brushes, makeup sponges, false eyelashes, eyelash curlers and other beauty accessories
Outer cardboard packaging can be recycled with your local council, so please don’t include this in your shipment to TerraCycle.
You do not need to clean the packaging before dropping it off for recycling, but please remove as much of the remaining product as possible before dropping it off at David Jones Stores. Australia Post will not accept dripping items, so please make sure your items are dry.
David Jones sponsors this national recycling program making it free for you to participate.
Once collected, the beauty packaging is cleaned and separated by material type. The fibres and plastics are recycled into raw formats that manufacturers use to make new products.
