All brands of used or empty medicinal blister packs can be recycled through this program.
This program does not accept:
- Blister packs still containing tablets or capsules
- Outer cardboard packaging can be recycled with your local council, so please don’t include this in your shipment to TerraCycle
Please ensure your blister packs are completely empty and dry before dropping off at your local Community Collection Hub.

Discover Our Recycling Process
Once received, the blister packs are separated into aluminium and plastics, and cleaned. Metals and aluminium are shredded and smelted into metal sheeting, ingots, or bar stock. Plastics are size-reduced (made smaller by being shredded or ground), then melted and reformatted into pellets, flakes, or a powder format.
