How it works

We’ve made getting started with the BRITA® MAXTRA+ Filter Free Recycling Program easy! Simply download a free shipping label to ship your BRITA® MAXTRA+ Filters to TerraCycle, and we’ll recycle them.

Collect

Create a TerraCycle account and join this program. Then reuse any box you have to start collecting your BRITA® MAXTRA+ Filters.

Download Free Label

When your have collected 10 or more filters, sign in to your TerraCycle account to download and print a prepaid shipping label and affix it to your box. OR take your phone to your nearest Australia Post Office, show them the label, and they will print it for you. Please ensure your filters are dry before shipping.

Ship

Seal your box. Take the box to your nearest Australia Post Office and your items will then be sent to us for recycling!

No, you do not need to clean the packaging before dropping it off for recycling. However, Australia Post will not accept dripping items, so please make sure your items are dry.

We encourage you to ship once you have collected at least ten filters (approximately 1kg) to minimise the footprint of this program. Australia Post will not accept dripping packages, so please make sure your items are dry.

NOTE: Any shipments weighing under 1kg (approximately 10 filters) will not receive TerraCycle points.

Earn Recycling Rewards

Earn TerraCycle points by recycling with us! You can redeem your points in the form of a donation to a school, charity, or nonprofit of your choice. Thanks to the recycling efforts of TerraCyclers like you, we've raised millions globally for schools, charities, and other nonprofits through our recycling programs. Send in your recycling to earn reward points. For every shipment of BRITA® MAXTRA+ filters over 1kg (approximately 10 filters) sent to us for recycling, you will earn $1 per kg in TerraCycle charity points.

3. Redeem Rewards

TerraCycle points can be redeemed for a donation of $1.00 per 100 points to the charitable organisation or school of your choice.

Once collected, the BRITA® MAXTRA+ Filters are cleaned and separated by material type. The fibres and plastics are recycled into raw formats that manufacturers use to make new products.
