Drop off your recycling at a location near you
Bring your recycling to a participating public drop-off point near you. It's free, and you won't need a TerraCycle account or shipping label.
How to become a public drop-off point
We’ve made getting started with BIC's Best in Class Free Recycling Program easy for schools! Simply download a free shipping label to ship your used writing instruments to TerraCycle, and we’ll recycle them.
*The first 150 schools to sign up the program will receive a welcome product pack. By joining BIC's Best in Class Recycling Program you agree to share your delivery address with BIC for the purpose of receiving your welcome pack.

BIC sponsors the recycling program, making it free for you to participate.
It’s quite simple to set up and manage a public drop-off point, and you can recruit a group of friends to help!
Set Up:

Choose a location and receive permission if needed.

Update a new or existing TerraCycle account profile with details about your public drop-off point.

Request to join the programs you would like to participate in.

Once you’ve been approved for the programs you requested, set up your public drop-off point location.
Manage:

Oversee the location (check it is being used properly, that rubbish is being shipped when collection boxes are filled).

When boxes are filled, seal them, download and affix the prepaid labels, and drop off the boxes at an Australia Post.

Continue to join programs of your choosing.
Promote: Spread awareness about your drop-off point (as you see fit) to encourage participation.
Allocate: As you accumulate TerraCycle recycling rewards, choose which charities will receive donations from your points.
Earn Recycling Rewards
1. Recycle
Send in your recycling to earn reward points. For every shipment of writing instruments over 7kg sent to us for recycling, you will earn $1 per kg in TerraCycle charity points which can be donated back to your school.
2. Earn Rewards
TerraCycle points can be redeemed for a donation of $0.01 per point to your school or charitable organisation of your choice.
3. Redeem Rewards
Sign up for BIC's Best in Class Recycling Program and begin recycling.
Discover Our Recycling Process
Once collected, the used writing instruments are cleaned and separated by material type. The fibres and plastics are recycled into raw formats that manufacturers use to make new products.
