Enjoy the convenience of recycling a wide variety of pet food, treat, and litter packaging at dedicated collection bins located inside PetSmart™. This program is brought to you by PetSmart™ and their brand sponsors, Tiki Cat®, Hills®, Authority®, ROYAL CANIN®, Canidae®, and Simply Nourish®. Use the interactive map below to search for locations near you.
The program is currently available in stores across Arizona and New Jersey. We hope to add more locations soon, so please keep checking back. When recycling in-store, look for this specially-designed box at your local participating PetSmart™. Just drop off your empty bags and go! We’ll take it from there.
Please note that volunteer administrators (not TerraCycle) manage drop-off points. The administrators choose the location, hours, and accepted waste streams. Please contact the administrator if you have questions about or suggestions for a specific drop-off location.

No, this program accepts empty pet food, treat, and litter bags from all brands.
No, you do not need to clean the products and packaging before dropping them off in-store for recycling through TerraCycle. However, please remove as much of the remaining product as possible and make sure your items are dry before you drop them off.
No, PetSmart™ and their brand sponsors, Tiki Cat®, Hills®, Authority®, ROYAL CANIN®, Canidae®, and Simply Nourish®, have sponsored this recycling program, so it is free for you to participate!
Once collected, the pet food, treat, and litter bags are cleaned and separated by material type. The materials are recycled into raw formats that manufacturers use to make new products. Click here to take a virtual tour of our processing facilities.
